Mechatronics Engineer

Hi, I'm Benas Vaičiulis.

I design robotic systems that combine strong mechanics with AI-driven perception and decision making.

Built a bionic hand prosthesis, an autonomous water drone, and a teleoperation bridge for an industrial UR5e.

I am focused on integrating AI into robotic systems and building a career as an AI robotics engineer.

I am currently deepening my ML stack in forecasting, recommendation, and intelligent robot decision pipelines.

An engineer on a mission

I am a mechatronic engineering student at the University of New South Wales. My goal is to specialize in AI integration for robotics, building systems that combine perception, control, and learning. Long term, I want to work as an AI robotics engineer or AI engineer focused on real-world deployment.

Selected work

My portfolio highlights robotic systems built for real constraints: latency, safety, payload requirements, and imperfect sensors. Each project shows the design tradeoffs and engineering decisions behind the final behavior.

Beyond

Extracurricular focus

Outside engineering, I push myself through endurance sport, exploration, and high-altitude objectives.

If you read this far, your attention to detail is already a good sign. My response time is faster than a model converging without overfitting. Let's talk.
